Considering the west vent shaft of Malanzhuang Iron ore mine is located in deep bedded deposit strata, a unique supporting structure is designed for the shaft collar by closely combining the construction scheme. As the result of trade-off study, the bolt-grouting support method was selected and successfully used in the construction of the shaft collar section. The unique supporting structure and construction scheme are the key to the successful construction of the west vent shaft collar.
