    Abstract:

    The development of battery-driven, trackless mining equipment has been gaining traction. Battery shovels with traditional quantitative hydraulic systems cannot are incapable of working a full underground shift (about 8 hours). This thesis demonstrates the feasibility of using a variable hydraulic system to counter the battery range problem.
