Abstract:Mine hoisting rope, as an important part of mine hoisting system, is an important part connecting elevated containers and the transmit power. Wire rope damage and failure not only pose a threat to the safety of the hoisting system, but also lead to greatly reduced service life of the rope, increased operating costs, and lowered comprehensive economic benefits of the enterprise. This paper analyzes in detail mine hoisting cable failure modes during real operation, the main types and the mechanism of mechanical damage. Control measures are put forward accordingly to mitigate or eliminate those mechanical damages based on the analysis results, hence the service life of steel wire can be prolonged and the safety of hoisting system can be enhanced. The effectiveness of the proposed prevention and control measures is illustrated through case analysis.
