Abstract:In recent years, under the dual influence of the continuous high growth of the global new energy vehicle market and the trend of high nickel for power batteries, high nickel matte has attracted much attention as an important raw material for battery-grade nickel sulfate. In this paper, two mainstream pyro smelting processes of laterite nickel ore for the preparation of high nickel matte are introduced, the problems of the currently selected metallurgical kilns are analyzed, and solutions are proposed. Based on the two patented technologies of Bottom-Blowing Smelting Process and Side-Submerged Combustion Smelting Process with independent intellectual property rights, China ENFI Engineering & Technology Co., Ltd. has developed and designed the compound sulfide blowing furnace for the preparation of nickel matte from ferron and the side-blowing reduction furnace for the preparation of nickel matte from sulfide roasted sand. The structural features and application advantages of the two furnace types are introduced in detail in this paper.
